Denise Bryant-Lukosius is an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing and Department of Oncology at McMaster University where she is also the Senior Scientist for the CHSR Foundation and CIHR Chair Program in Advanced Practice Nursing (APN). She has CNA certification in oncology and over 25 years of experience as an oncology nurse, predominately as a CNS in hematology/oncology and prostate cancer. Working in partnership with several agencies and institutions, she created a comprehensive program of research on the effective development and utilization of oncology APN roles, as well as a successful mentorship program for all oncology nursing roles.

Mary Jane Esplen, RN, PhD, de Souza Institute

Mary Jane Esplen is inaugural director of the de Souza Institute, Clinician-Scientist at the University Health Network and Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto with cross-appointment to the Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing. A CIHR scientist, Dr. Esplen has a strong interest in developing measurement tools and psychosocial and psychotherapy interventions for individuals with cancer and for cancer genetic populations. She leads a research program that focuses on psychological aspects of cancer and on the psychosocial impact of being at high risk for cancer.
